Obituary for Mary Ann Tice

Mary Ann Tice, age 79, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends on July 21, 2019. She was born at home on December 8, 1939, in Seaford, Delaware, to the late Lester and Mary Jones. Mary Ann attended a one room grade school in Concord until 6th grade and then went on to graduate from Seaford High School in the class of 1957. On June 1st 1957 she married the love of her life Roland E. Tice, together they had one son and two daughters. Roland and Mary started their ministry as United Methodists. Five years later, in February of 1974 they founded Christ Evangelistic Church in Laurel. As a pastor’s wife, she was known for the love she shared, the meals she cooked, and the way she served her husband side by side in their ministry. During that same time, she was a bus contractor for the Seaford School District and Sussex Tech for 34 years. In honor of her memory we will be creating a cook book of her recipes. Mary Ann wanted all children to learn about Jesus and his love. Her hobbies as many may know were, cooking, crafting, gardening and yard sales. She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, the Rev. Roland Tice. A son, Danny Tice and his wife Karen; daughters, Denise Crothers and her husband Gregg, and Debora Musser and her husband Kevin; sister, Barbara James and her husband Leroy; six grandchildren, Tim Tice and wife Jessica, Angela Golliday and husband Chris, Joel Tice and wife Stacey, Vaughn Crothers and wife Lynette, Brooks Musser, Alexis Musser; thirteen great grandchildren, Willow, Jack, Kayla, Greyson, Roman, Bentley, Briella, Nora, Nixon, Grant, Grace, Austin, and Riley. Many nieces and nephews also survive her. Mary Ann was proceeded in death by her parents. She will forever be remembered for her gift of loving people and her servant’s heart. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11:00 am at Christ Evangelistic Church, 9802 Camp Rd. Laurel, Delaware 19956. A viewing will be held at the church from 9:00 am -11:00 am. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery in Seaford, Delaware. A bereavement dinner will follow the interment at the church. The family would like anyone who knew her or knew her family to please attend.
